Welcome to WOOSTER CHURCH of the Nazarene. Thanks for looking our way. Our doors and our hearts are wide open and we warmly welcome you.
|WOOSTER CHURCH is a launching pad where many “God things” have taken place since 1995. Today more than 1000 people attend worship every weekend. We are on a journey together ... a community of people who really love God and each other. Even though we’re a church that is not traditional in style, we are deeply committed to the absolute truth of God’s unchanging Word with no compromise. It is our desire to keep Jesus at the center of everything we do so we are always focused on Him. It’s all about Jesus! We know that Jesus has called Wooster Church to be a place of unity. When He prayed that we would be “one” … He was really praying “Come-unity!” This is a portrait that carries God’s signature for only He can create it and sustain it. Only God can bring unity out of such a great diversity.|
|The Bible says that unless God builds a house … it’s not worth building. He builds a house of unity that lasts. Matt 16:18b [NLT] 18 … upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. I am convinced that this prayer of Jesus can only be answered as the church becomes the “House of Worship” that it was created and intended to be. We were created for an eternity of worship. Worshipers are what we are to be and worship is what we are to do. Worship: When we are fully devoted worshipers, it means that we choose to give God an undivided heart and our undivided attention. We see all of life as a celebration of God’s presence so we daily offer a sacrifice of praise which is actually the sacrament of obedience. Our core identity as God’s people is to be known as fully devoted worshipers of Jesus. We are absolutely sold out and surrendered to this call. This is a way of life. Psa 139:18b [MSG] … Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you! Genuine spirit and truth worship … as in Rom 12:1 … always brings unity. This means that we become “God-gazers.” The focus is no longer mostly on the mighty acts of God and what we want from Him. We now center on who God is and what He wants from us. That’s it! He wants us! Offering ourselves to Him is the greatest act of worship we can present. Now … this kind of unity will only be possible as we become and remain the “House of W.O.R.S.H.I.P.” that He intended from the start. Everything flows from this posture of humility and brokenness: worship; outreach; relationship, service; holiness; instruction; and prayer. W.O.R.S.H.I.P. brings balance. No matter what your background or where you are on your spiritual journey, you can find a home at WOOSTER CHURCH of the Nazarene. Our hearts and our doors are open and we extend a warm welcome to you.|
