Two Goals:

1. Love all children the way Jesus loved regardless of special need or disability.
2. Support parents, siblings, and caregivers of children with special needs by offering resources and support for their unique situations.

Special Needs Ministry

Our Purpose and Vision

Kids are a big deal to us at Wooster Nazarene—ALL kids. We believe that when Jesus said “Let the little children come to me” He didn’t exclude anyone. We know that kids encounter Jesus through the people he indwells and we strive to be that connection. We practice an inclusion model, meaning if a child is able in any way possible to join in our regular programming (even if its modified or adapted) we desire them to be present. We believe it is best for the children with special needs and best for typical children as well. Every child is capable of knowing Jesus. The Holy Spirit does not see a “disabled” child; He is fully capable to reveal himself to all children. Our desire is for everyone to experience His presence.

Sunday Morning

C.I.A. kids have two Sunday morning options during our 11:30 a.m. worship service. They can participate in a mainstream Kidz church service with a Buddy (one-on-one assistant) or in our calm and safe classroom (Oasis Room). Preregistering is preferred but same day drop-off is ok too!

Special Needs MinistryRefuel

Attention parents! We are excited to offer you some time to REFUEL with Parents’ Night Out. We will offer a program for your children (special needs and siblings) while you take some time off for YOU! This will occur on the 2nd Friday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 9p.m. at Wooster Nazarene.

Register four ways: pick up a packet from the church office; download registration forms from our website woosterchurh.org; we can send you one in the mail; or, fill one out when you drop off your child. Complete the necessary paperwork in the packet. Show up! We will contact you if we have any questions.

“Go and make disciples of
ALL people!”
Matthew 28:19

Which KIDZ?

We welcome 1st through 6th grade children with Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, Bipolar Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD , and Developmental Delays. We handle headbangers, screamers, meltdowns and any other special need that makes it difficult for a child to function in a classroom without adaptation or assistance. If your child is older than 6th grade and needs the assistance of the Oasis Room, please let us know and we will do our best to make it happen!
